“ Unprofessional and unaccountable are two words that come to mind while describing this situation. AutoGo hired TransAuto Logistics to transport our Corolla from Alexandria, Virginia to San Diego, California. The driver requested $200 payment when we arrived to load the car, allegedly for the two boarding bag-sized bags in the trunk. He lowered the demanded tip/backsheesh to $100 and said "$100, $200, $200" to each of the other cars on the load. We phoned AutoGo (who had indicated we could put baggage in the car) twice before it looked to be sorted because he seemed unwilling to load the car (while we stood there in the rain, he went into his cab and ignored us, only yelling $100 out his window). We left a $50 "tip" for the driver We're concerned about our vehicle. It did, however, arrive damaged. When I sent in a video of a side view mirror with the housing ripped off (screws shredded) and the mirror casing shaking, Martin from TransAuto contacted. He inquired if we had seen how the automobile was carried and decided that because it was on top of the cab facing backwards, the pressure of the wind at high speed across the country against the mirrors, as well as the truck's position, had caused this. The driver didn't appear to have folded the mirrors back (as we have seen on every single auto hauling truck since).
