A bit about North Carolina
The Appalachian Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean are neighbors in the southeast state of North Carolina (NC). North Carolina offers a variety of outdoor activities because of its beaches, hills, mountains, and barrier islands. North Carolina's natural beauty can be experienced in a variety of ways, including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Cherokee Indian Reservation, which are both accessible via the renowned Blue Ridge Parkway.
As one of the original thirteen colonies, North Carolina boasts a rich history and a number of vibrant, ancient cities. The largest city in the state is Charlotte, which is located in the southwest. Raleigh, the capital, is located more in the middle of the state, close to Greensboro and Chapel Hill. One of North Carolina's claims to fame is that the Wright Brothers' first successful powered flight took place at the state's seaside community of Kitty Hawk.
